It is all on us to determine if we are in control or not. We all get stressed out, and we all come very close to acting without thinking. But when we do so, our future may become jeopardized.
We must do our best to focus in the times we start losing control. Because once we allow ourselves to go too far, it is near impossible to stop. At that point we become a runaway train on a crash course. And while it seems ideal at the time, we know that in the end it is not worth it. So every time we start slipping, we have to be conscious of it and take a second to put the brakes on. And after we put this in practice, it will then become muscle memory. It will take less and less effort to be in control. We all know this, but it is one of those things we have to really put the time into to see results. But just like meditation and yoga, the results are very rewarding.
I did a working a while back to help myself with this. My affirmation was along the lines of "I am constantly and completely in control of my mind and body in every way". We need to do workings and put forth the spiritual effort to achieve what we want in life, whether it is material or spiritual.
I can only tell you about my experiences, you must take a close look at your actions and their outcomes. Always try to do what is more beneficial even if it is hard. You are strong and must acknowledge this. Make it present in your daily life that you are successful and can achieve your goals and overcome the obstacles before you.
Too many people have become dependent on others. Most people now do not seek out information on their own, but instead will ask others to find the answers for them. Sometimes this is ok, but it has become the nature of most. Asking for the answers before looking yourself has become their primary method because many of us readily give them the answers. While it is beneficial to help educate others, we must make sure we pay attention to see if the person is doing their own research or not. If we continue to give everything to these individuals we are now an enabler. We are now hurting this person in the sense of; if no one is there to help them, they are less likely to be able to learn on their own. They will struggle and may end up giving up all together.
A life lesson that successful individuals have is to “not ask others to do what we can do ourselves”. When we allow ourselves to become dependent on another, we have lessened our chances of survival. Be assertive in your life to achieve your goals. Being assertive does not mean being overly aggressive either. If you become too aggressive you may end up overstepping and missing your original goal all together. On the other hand being too passive will get you nowhere. Finding the middle ground is crucial in most if not all pursuits in life. Do not be afraid to take risks, but at the same time, do not jump to extremes. Use the escalation of force method, where you start out with less intensity and as the situation dictates, then escalate. Going from 0 to 60 in a split second may sound good, but may end up causing you to crash and burn at the same time.
